Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Totus Tuus 2011

Moe and Buttercup had an amazing time at Totus Tuus this week.

The "end of the week" water fun....has always been their favorite part.

A fire truck was brought in for the occasion......to give everyone a cooling off spray......which was very much welcomed as the temperature was high and the sun was out in full force.  A perfect summer day.

Nacho was "all in" when he saw the fire truck.  He started playing in the fun even though he didn't attend the week's activities.

He found  a soggy doggy that was as wet as he was.

Moe loved running and sliding into the mud that was being made as the water turned the ground wet.....actually football field ground....this is the exact spot that Rocky started practicing this week!
Moe's enthusiam for the week matched his exhuberant jumps!!

He was especially excited to be able to make a "human sundae" out of the seminarians who were the leaders throughout the week.  Moe's group was chosen as a reward for their excellence during the week's classroom time.  He picked the job of spraying the whipped cream....right after the chocolate and strawberry sauce had been poured,

Totus Tuus......Latin for "Totally Yours!"

"Lord prepare me,
To be a Sanctuary,
Pure and Holy,
Tried and True...
With Thanksgiving,
I'll be a Living,
Sanctuary...For You!!"

On Your Marks....

Buttercup had her very first track meet a few weeks ago......she was ready to run!!!

She absolutely LOVED IT!!!  We could sign her up for 4 events, so we picked the
50, 100, 200, and 400 yd dashes!!

She even raced against older girls in the 200 and she came in first!!

It was a cooler evening after a big heat wave and we had a very enjoyable time!
Way to Go, Buttercup!!!

We LOVE your determination!!!

Clean, Bright and White

Are those shades blocking out the hot, summer sun?

Nope, they are for the glare of the dental chair lamp.....

.....which Nacho didn't mind as he sat through his 1st ever dentist appointment!!  A vehement "NO!" was repeated a few times when it was his turn hop in the car and go, but he turned brave and happy the minute he walked into the dentist office.

He especially liked "Mister Spit."

Scene Selections From "The God-Father"

Fr. Morgan took a few days to immerse himself into the lives of the family he inherited when he lovingly accepted his role as Coco's God-father.
We enjoyed his visit immensely and the exclusive time we spent with him as we watched a man with many talents become a......

1. Yard-work Extraordinaire.....when he was finished, our yard was trim, neat and raked to perfection.

2. Trampoline Enthusiast.......he and Coco had the "bounce beat" down to perfection.....

...along with the Ring Around the Rosy Dance.....and especially the.....

...."We All Fall Down" part!

3. True Baseball Fan to the Highest Degree.....
a fan of playing....

.....A fan of watching....
....and a fan of supporting the boys in their quest to excel in a favorite past-time.

4.  Captivating Book Reader.....

....Who can read a rousing rendition of "Barney Says".....as he slowly pulls in the listener who tentatively gazes at the required hand movements to "touch your head" in the beginning......

......to full participation by the "touch your toes" part of the the book.

5. Raisin Bran Connoisseur.....allowing Coco to pick out and eat the raisins only.....leaving the flakes behind.

You are beloved priest to our family.....and we cherish the important role you play in the building of our domestic church and.......
.....helping us live out our call to holiness!!
Which is no small task!!
Can't wait for your next visit!!
