Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

The clock only stopped for half-time, so all the girls got to play the whole game.

Buttercup will be done next week, and try-outs start for Ky, Rocky and Moe this week.

Twas The Night Before All Saints Day....

010
.....and all through the house....
....the creatures were roaring and buzzing....
014
....even the mouse.

022
With the Football Player in his jersery and the Warrior Fan in his gear....

025
...they set out for "Trick-or Treating....
I had nothing to fear.
A wonderful time shared with neighbors and friends....

029
...A beeeautiful night.......that kids didn't want to end.

068
But I heard them exclaim when they came back inside.....
"Wow, my own private stash.... where can it hide?!"

Happy Halloween

001
Orange is the color of the day today....
007
...and it just happens to be "Letter H" week at our house....

Carving Out Special Time Together

015
Sunday night was pumpkin carving night....
026
....and Mark worked hard...
033
.....using manual labor to help cut and follow specific orders and directions from the younger artists.....
027
...so much that his mother thought he was "working up" a sweat.
Mark claimed he was just fine.....
028
....although, we all got a little "worked-up" about this creature who made it inside our house with a free ride on the pumpkin....
029
The boys tried to use different utensils to get it out....
but then Grandma H. comes right in a squishes it with a napkin.....getting the job done without a squirmish bone whatsoever!
038
Ky wanted to show (especially Grandpa Wes) how his "double-jointed" arm was good for something.....that something being able to successfully clean out pumpkin guts.
040
We will now have jack-o-laterns....
041
....on our front steps tomorrow night!

Library Story Time

004
Nacho LOVES library story time.  We go every Wednesday and today's theme was "Halloween."

003
After the stories were read, we did a craft....which turned out to be a decorated treat bag.......and, for a bonus, the librarian happened to have treats ready after story time.
015
Normally, there isn't a snack served, but today was special.....it was a treat pot-luck!!
018
Nacho actually counts down the days until the next story time......and he loves it just as much without all the Halloween hoop-a-la!!

Happy Birthday, Andy!!!
You are now closer to 40 than 30!
