We found out from a neighbor on Saturday that the city was providing a free tree branch pick-up on Monday. So, on Sunday, we became tree artists. Trimming here, cutting there. Mark looked like "Edward Scissorhands."
All of our trees needed some type of cutting action, so our branch pile grew to be pretty large. I also managed to get Rocky a haircut that day.....like the trees, he was in need of a good trim.
By the end of the day, I felt like I could strongly identify with the book Mop Top, where the boy goes home after going to the barber and the world looks so much more clean cut and streamlined.Two days later, the branches are still in the front ditch. Let's hope our neighbor was right, or we'll be buying some chocolate, marshmallows and grahams to go with a nice little bonfire that we will be making.
