Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Game On!

Buttercup had her "Game Face" on today and played some great soccer on this beautiful, autumn morning!

This kick between two defenders hit the goal post....so close!

Keep up the great work!

Dinosaur Parade

Nacho's began his "D" letterbook this week....so he started off the day with a Dinosaur Parade!  Then, he had so much fun, he made an Animal Parade with all his other animals. (We did letter "A" last week) I could hardly walk around the kitchen when it was time to prepare lunch....there were so many animals!  We sure have collected many throughout the years!  When he did set up the animals, he classified them all in animal groups....great science lesson!

Now, I'm looking for a great recipe to make home-made Donuts.  That is on our "to do" list come this Thursday!

City Nights, Neon Lights...

...was the theme for this year's Homecoming.

A good inspiration for all those bright ties!

Our Night Owl

This Great Horned Howl's favorite spot to perch at night is right on our chimney.  We know he is there almost every night because we can hear him.

To hear what we hear....click on the following link and listen to the
"Juvenile Begging Shriek."  Listen all the way to the end as it is the last shriek that resembles our owl the most!

It can wake a person up at night!

Buttercup made her 1st batch of bars!  It is the very same recipe that I used when I was 9 years old and learning to bake.
They were a hit with our family!
A no-fail, easy recipe....and so yummy! (I received a purple ribbon for this recipe at our County Fair when I was in 4-H)

Good Job, Buttercup!  Keep it up!
