Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Dance Class

Grandma H. was able to attend Buttercup's dance class tonight.

Buttercup enjoyed sharing a part of her weekly routine.

And Grandma was able to get a glimpse of what the May recitial would look like!

Special memory for both of them.

Back At It Again!

The Great Whole House Painting project has resumed.
Grandpa is back.....

Along with Grandma H. and.....

Grandpa H.
We are excited to have everyone here.
If the weather cooperates, the grandparents will get to see all 3 boys play baseball while they are here!
Even though it is drizzly wet outside, tonight's game is still ON.....much to Moe's excitement!

Happy Thursday!

Invasion of the Water Restoration Fans

I forgot to turn the water faucet off on Monday morning. I was running the water to soak a pair of baseball pants and walked away. The sink over-flowed. There is now water underneath our kitchen hard-wood floors and we are attempting a wicking process to dry everything up.

All is good........but it is LOUD in here. Sound like a jet plane taking off....and taking off.....and taking off........all day long!

Rocky's first baseball game is tonight.....and Ky has one, too. So, at least we will be outside and away from the roar!!!

And, extra bonus, it's beautiful outside.....that's where we need to be anyway.

Baseball----Behind the Scenes

Moe, Buttercup, Nacho, Coco and I went to Ky's baseball game today.

I watched some baseball, but I also enjoyed a simply beautiful spring day.

While Ky and his team warmed up, we were warming up too.....sitting on a blanket and soaking up the sun's rays......

enjoying our first picnic of the year. I watched Ky get a walk to first base, but I also saw Coco walk all over..... loving the freedom of having no walls around her.

I saw a girl hanging from the monkey bars today, but I didn't see any hanging curve balls from Ky's pitching.......he had a few great strike-outs as he allowed no runs during his time on the mound.

Moe had the best seat in the house......

watching from up high as the team played the field......

but watching up close as the team batted as he has become the official "bat boy."

My first baseball game of the year....... Yep, spring has definitely sprung.

Have a wonderful week,

Sara

Today's Mission.....

......was tackling this load of laundry.

I am listening to the 2nd to last load tumble in the dryer, so mission almost accomplished.

Mission that I did accomplish in the laundry department? I made an important discovery........for my special "hang-dry" items......

A chandelier makes a wonderful indoor clothes-line.

My day was "loads" of fun.....hope yours was too!

Week-End Activities

While Mark and the three older boys were.....

in St. Louis, MO enjoying sun, baseball, 85 degree weather and.....

winning a 2nd place trophy.....

I was at home with visions of paint colors......

.....dancing through my head. Dancing so much that it made me dizzy! The whole family had plans to go to St. Louis together, but because Coco had been sick all week and Nacho was catching the same viral, croupy illness, I decided to stay home. Grandpa was also going to be home alone this week-end, so he decided to come visit us and start "The Great Household Painting Project." We have all white walls and white wood-work throughout our whole house. Little by little, we have plans to change all that whiteness. We got a wonderful start and our family room looks so fresh and clean and...... colorful.....not so stark white anymore.
Grandpa also got the kitchen and dining room taped and ready to paint, but because I wasn't able to decide on just the right color, Mark and I will have to finish these rooms without his painting expertise. The color I intend to pick out will also be painted through the rest of the downstairs and upstairs, so I want it to be just right.

It was wonderful to have Grandpa here. It was a memorable week-end. We listened and sang along to "Malt Shoppe Oldies" while Grandpa worked and I stared at the walls and snuggled with sick kids...........waiting for the perfect color inspiration. Watching paint dry can be fun.....it was the perfect, slower paced week-end activity for me! Oh yeah, and a few extra Starbucks trips mixed in there, too!

Have a colorful, wonderful week!
