Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Thanksgiving 2011

A little flag football....

....fresh air....

021
...and friendly neighborhood competition to get the appetite ready for a feast.
023
Two little projects to help celebrate the day....
040
....Pilgrim Hats....
034
.....and...

038
.....paper bag Turkeys!!!
Meet Scracky!!

044
Mark did the turkey on the grill this year.....and it SMELLED delicious!
049
...and it tasted delicious, also!
052
This chocolate pie had a few finger marks in it by the time it was served for dessert!
055
I am thankful for a wonderful day spent with family!

Thanksgiving is a true acknowledgement;
we, applying ourselves with great reverence and in loving fear
and with all our powers to the work that our Lord has moved us to,
rejoicing and giving thanks inwardly.
~Julian of Norwich, 14th century

Happy Thanksgiving!

November Sightings At Our House

A very nice Football Award for an awesome football season....good job, Rocky!

Coco's first drawing...self-titled...."Apple."

Two Cute and Funny!

029
Coco was excited to eat cake....
030
...but wasn't quite sure....
038
...what to think when everyone burst out singing....
033
...."Happy Birthday to you!"
035
In fact, she wasn't too happy to receive....
036
....all that direct attention....
050
.....and when it was time to blow out the candles......she refused.
037
But Nacho, always ready to help out in candle blowing....
039
....offered his assistance right away....
041
..and took care of one candle for her.  Now, we thought she'd get the idea and blow out the other candle.....
042
....but she went about it Moe-Style.........snubbing it out with her fingers.
(Don't worry, no appendages were burnt in the process)
052
Finally, she was able to enjoy the long awaited cake!!!
054
We captured her special "candle snuffing" on video and the playback (and IRL episode) got LOADS of laughter from her older brothers.
Coco, you are TOO sweet for words.....TWO is fun when it is with you!!!

Farm Field Trip

005
We took a field trip to a local farm today and there were kitties everywhere....much to the delight of Nacho...
010
....Buttercup....
015
....and Coco.

There were cows to feed...
(cows that will be producing the milk we will be drinking....we are scheduled to pick up 2 gallons every Friday)
017
....and horses, too.
020
This cat stayed with Moe almost the whole time we were there....he was so happy and content to snuggle right into Moe's neck.  Farmer Joan was a wonderful host.
026
And, it was so Great to see a Goat because it is "G" week!!

Gee, we had alot of fun!
Have a Good day!

Sock Hopping

003
Nothing like the feeling of getting new socks.....and wearing them for the first time.
001
Nacho's day started our with slides all over the kitchen floor.....Tom Cruise style...I could almost hear...
002
....."Old Time Rock and Roll" playing in the background!

007
It was a nice, windless day....which made it easy to be outside....
009
...practicing touchdown leaps.
014
Guess who....can you tell by the socks?  He was light on his feet all day!  Didn't take those socks off for a minute.
017
More touchdown leaps...
019
...and, of course, touchdown leaps need to be practiced WHILE trying to catch the football.
028
Moe, the carnival games leader, led a potato sack race sans the potato sacks.....
030
....but, they made the garbage sacks work.
Nacho won first place in the race.....must have been the socks!

Those socks just kept him hopping!

NOTE TO SELF:  I have to get me some of dem der socks!

Have a great week!
