Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Celery and the Sun….

....does not make a good mix for this boy!  Nacho has phytodermatitis and the only thing he did to receive that diagnosis was to eat celery outside on a sunny day!  The acidic juices from the celery combined with the ultraviolet rays from the sun caused his skin to have a reaction.  The area that was affected is now darker than the rest of his face.  Click on the following link to find out more on this subject.
The area in the corner of his mouth used to hurt a bit, but he now feels much better!
Nacho will now have to eat his celery INSIDE from now on!
Maybe there should be a warning label on celery packages.....didn't know a healthy vegetable could cause harm!

  1. He looks so sad! We've dealt with skin issues like this from our first kids... there are treatments and they learn to take care of it early on. :-)
