Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Happy 4th Of July

We celebrated inside the nice cool house....and....

...out in the sweltering 100 degree heat.....

...watching Ky play in a baseball tournament.  Luckily, we only had one game today.

We did our best to stay cool....and this is Moe's way of slowly drinking from his water bottle...

...a little bit at a time goes a long way!

This baseball park had a wonderful forest of trees behind homeplate....

...but the park right next to the diamond was in full sun....and there wasn't much of a breeze.

But, we kept ourselves entertained.  Rocky discovered that if he hit this sign, a few hornets would come out and fly around.
Notice Coco in the background....she carried her swimsuit around all day just waiting for the game to get over so she could go to the pool!

And, we did make it to the pool as soon as we got home from the game.

Happy Birthday, America!

A Spring Sunday At The Park

Today...

....was a beautiful, beautiful.....

.....spring...

....Sunday.

It was the kind of day....

....that....

....I just.....

....didn't want to end.

A day ....

...that is etched...

....in my memory forever.

A day that was meant....

...to play at the park.

And so, we did!!!

High Flying Week-end

This week-end, we saw lots of high flying......

...along with some good defense....

....and a little bit of ruckus....
...that caused some turnovers...

...which turned into some easy lay-ups.

Rocky also had a high-flying tournament....but I didn't get any good pics of him.
He did well and was responsible for those 4 points at the beginning of the game....I just didn't get any good action shots.

The high flying didn't end on the basketball court.....we finally had an opportunity to try out Nacho's new birthday present....

...a tiger jet kite!!!

More high flying....

...as spring-like temps can get us jumping for joy!

Winter Wonder Ball 2012.....

....was the theme of our homeschool group's family dance and it gave us a reason to dress up and head out for the evening!!!

It's fun to find a perfect coat for the festivities....
(which was found in the hall closet....waiting to be worn again after Buttercup outgrew it!)

One particular girl wore a smile all evening long....

.....and I do believe it had to do something with a.....

...full...

....dance....

....card!!!???

Meanwhile....

...Moe and Coco had some pretty fancy steps to their dance!

Nacho had a few moves of his own...

....as he very naturally took the lead....

...and danced...

....happily....

....for the whole song!!

The theme was perfect for the evening...
it was wonderful!
