Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Track Meet 2012

Buttercup had a great meet....
1st in the 100 Meter Dash. (18:28)
2nd in the 50 Meter Dash (9:79)
1st in the 200 Meter Dash (42:05).......

...and...

...pulled ahead early....

...and stayed ahead....

...to come in 1st...

...for the 400 Meter Dash. (1:29)

And...she had a lot of fun!  Buttercup loves to run.

Moe got 2nd in the 100 Meter Dash (14:85, lost by .004 seconds)...and wanted revenge with his competition in the 50 and 200, but wasn't able to compete in those 2 races....

...because he left it all out on the track after sprinting the 400 Meter Dash in 1:13....for 1st place.
He didn't feel so good after that race.

Moe felt better after about 20 mintues, but by then, the last 2 races he was going to compete in were over.

On Your Marks....

Buttercup had her very first track meet a few weeks ago......she was ready to run!!!

She absolutely LOVED IT!!!  We could sign her up for 4 events, so we picked the
50, 100, 200, and 400 yd dashes!!

She even raced against older girls in the 200 and she came in first!!

It was a cooler evening after a big heat wave and we had a very enjoyable time!
Way to Go, Buttercup!!!

We LOVE your determination!!!

Track Meet

It's Crazy Days around here. From what we can gather, it's 10 days of fun, merriment and lots of activities for all the residents to enjoy. Wednesday night was a track meet for ages 7-12......not overly attended, but well put on by the people in charge. Our first summer event ever in our new state, we ventured out in the hot weather to fully immerse ourselves in the local culture and to check out the running competition.

Moe had fun. 1st place in softball throw. (No 2nd or 3rd place awarded) 1st place in the 400yd dash. (because of no other participants, he got to race in the girl division) 1st place in the 50yd dash. (One 2nd place awarded....tight race) 1st place in the 200yd dash.....this race had more kids to run against.

All in all, it was our family trying something new. Something we're trying to do more of these days. Waiting patiently for new faces to become faces we recognize............knowing that we need to venture out on outings such as these to make everything and everyone seem more familiar.......realizing that this process is a marathon, not a sprint.

Have a blue ribbon day,
Sara
