Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Football on the Week-ends

Autumn is in the air....and with it comes football.

Rocky plays on Saturdays and is a middle linebacker on defense and tight end on offense.

Ky plays on Sundays and is the quarterback.

The rest of us......we wear orange and black and enjoy the beautiful fall days while watching the ups and "downs" of a great game.

My Newest Addiction

I am hooked on........freshly laundered sheets that have dried in the wind.
Ky and Rocky created a makeshift clothes-line for me using a rope and two trees, and now I am totally addicted to.....
the scent of "summer breeze".........all natural.....

Check out the horizantal sheets........I don't need words to explain how gusty is was around here yesterday.

Have a great Wednesday!
Happy Baptismal Birthday to Moe!

THE GANG WAS BACK TOGETHER....

.....Back together for a short time, but we'll take good friends any way we can get them.....

"Make new friends,
but keep the old.
One is silver,
the other is gold."

"A circle is round,
it has no end.
That's how long
I will be your friend."

Thanks so much for coming to visit and seeing where we now live....
for those extra miles packed on top of a long drive of miles already.....
for the pleasure of seeing two 3 year olds go crazy for Mentos....
for sharing a special tea party with chocolate cookies.....
for letting us show you all our new "norms"......

but, especially for an afternoon that created a great memory.....
of one family just being content to be with another family.....
a great game of flag football on a sunny, late summer day.....
of mom's watching and visiting, sitting in the grass..with babies and toddlers playing around us...

"You have one hand
I have the other.
Put them together
We have each other."

It was a fun and GOLDen day!

Company Guest List Updated

Oh, yeah, and that cute, squishy baby on the right is coming to visit us on Saturday, too!
Can't wait to kiss those cheeks.

Thursday Night at the Park

Last night was a quadruple practice night with the 2 oldest having football practice. The 2 middles had soccer practice....and as luck would have it.....same time at the same park!!

It was a beautiful night to enjoy time outside, so Mark and I and the 2 littles watched practice and played at the park.

Moe is on a U10, rec. coed fall soccer team.
His games start next Saturday.

Buttercup is on a U7, co-ed, rec. team.

Her games start next Saturday, too.

Coco found ways to pass the time by crawling to all the dandilions.

As she grabbed each one, I did my childhood ritual of making a wish as the seeds flew into the air.
Wishing for........
.......shhhh.......I'm not supposed to tell!!

Happy Labor Day Week-end!!!
Summer is coming to an end!

Moe Has A Great Idea!

Yesterday, Moe was doing an astronomy experiment where he had to use balloons to make a small scale model of the sun and the planets. Moe had to blow up the balloons according to the size that each planet is in relationship to one another. The yellow balloon above ended up representing the sun......not exactly the shape I was looking for, but I'll give hime an "A" for creativity!
