Welcome to Prarie Pi. This blog exists to journal and document the memories that our family experiences. Pi is "an amount of type that has been jumbled or thrown together at random." We hope to assemble in words and pictures the daily thoughts and activities that happen in our household. We do this to help those that are distant from us get a glimpse into our days so that the miles that separate us won't keep us apart.

Bubba Burgertime

Mark did the grocery shopping the other night and he was looking for pre-made hamburgers. We always had our freezer stocked with pre-made Hy-Vee burgers and grilled them AT LEAST once a week when we lived on 61st St.
Well, he didn't come home with store-made pre-shaped, he came home with what the local butcher HIGHLY recommended......Bubba Burgers. Since they were on sale, Mark threw them in the cart.
Last night was the big night to try them out. Our home inspecter was here yesterday and happened to see the box on the counter and he even backed up the butcher, "Wow, Bubba Burgers tonight, yum! Those are great burgers." You could see our mouths salivating after that comment.

You put them on the grill frozen, right from the box. Already they had us hooked as you can't get much easier than that. No messing around with raw hamburger that falls apart without proper handling.

To compliment the meal, Mark tried a new way of doing corn on the grill.......straight from his favorite "How To Make Grilling Easy," cookbook.

Needless to say, we watched those burgers like a hawk.

Can you see/feel the anticipation in the room as we are ready to take our first bite?
(except for Coco, she already had her main course)

They were a hit.....even finicky, "Dessert Only Please," Nathan ate his portion all gone.
Trying new things.....that's what it's all about for us right now.....even the food!!

  2. It may be 9:40 in the morning, but my mouth is watering, too. Going to St. Louis next week and looking forward to toasted ravioli. I have to wonder if Chicagoland has caught onto that STL favorite. Next time you are at an italian/pizza place, look for them. You will not regret it!
